If you’ve ever taken the Myers-Briggs personality type test, you might have found it interesting but not have much of a practical use for it. If you’re running a personal blog or website, you might have found the issue of not figuring out how exactly you should label your blog for search engines. “Personal blog/website/journal” is a wide subject range, and it can be near impossible to label. What is great about using your personality type in blog promotion is that you will have a tool to bring in the right people who appreciate your way of thinking and writing.

MBTI is the most used personality test in the world. There are some people who just LOOOVE the test, and spend quite some time studying other types as well as their own. Now, you could tap into that pool of enthusiasts by simply adding your type indicator to your about me -box or blog description. The more you know about it, you can tag your posts that are typical to your type with your type indicator as well, to pump them up in searches, blog catalogues, directories and other places.

If you haven’t taken the test or have forgotten your results, try this one: http://www.teamtechnology.co.uk/mmdi/questionnaire/ It’s free to take and gives you a basic result as well as a breakdown of your closest “personality cousins”. Once you have your type, move here: http://www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.html to read more about your type. If you’re unsure about your result, you can google for more tests, there’s plenty to choose from.

By the way; I’m an INFP.

This controversial little blog promotion tool has now made a big jump towards rewarding for comments posted on other’s blogs. Joined up with sezwho, EntreCard is hoping to encourage people to comment and leave feedback on others blogs – and being rated for their comments to stop them from just saying “nice post” to everything. So, this being the case, EntreCard is back on my sidebar, I am taking adverts and let’s see how it goes, as I have had my reservations in the past as you may remember.

The new partnership may fix the problem that EntreCard had, and why I stopped using it. It used to create a lot of “empty traffic” as it rewarded people for quite inane activity on your blog. However, if this works as nicely as they hope this will, the new addition will increase the sense of community and friendship, which is, to me, the best part of the Internet, not only blogging. Fingers crossed, I wish luck to EntreCard and SezWho and hope this will be a beginning of a beautiful friendship.
