Do you remember the early days?

I miss it. The excitement. The times when you had an email address with Hotmail but no friends to email to. When you used Altavista instead of Google, because Google hadn’t been born yet. When you told your Geocities web address to people your age who had no idea what that meant. When you could fool your friends with a photoshopped group photo and ask them “do you remember when we went here?” and they would wrack their brain to remember when it was. When you went to Excite.com and tried to look for someone to talk to. When knowing a bit of html made people stare at you with wide open eyes… Of course they didn’t know what html was or what it was used for, but it sounded cool enough. That was when it was still okay to stick animated gif candles next to a dead man’s photo and call it a “tribute page”. Those were the innocent times, when you wouldn’t find a Turkish man online even if you posted a dating profile on Yahoo.

Oh I miss it.
